The Portuguese Patrícia Mamona obtained this Sunday the silver in the triple jump of the ‘meeting’ of Gateshead, of the Diamante League, with a mark of 14.37 meters.

After Auriol Dongmo got the gold at the launch of the weight, the other Portuguese athlete in the race also ‘shone’, being only surpassed by Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts, whose third test, of 14.40 meters, secured the gold.

The athlete from Sporting, European ‘indoor’ champion of the discipline, got the best mark in the first jump, but then registered three nulls, before reaching 13.62 in the last attempt.

The British Naomi Ogbeta got the bronze, with a jump of 14.29 meters.

With this result, Patrícia Mamona adds seven points in the Diamond League, to one of Ricketts, after the first of five scoring events in the competition.
