A tribute concert to Carlos do Carmo is coming. The “Fado is Love”. The show will take place on December 21, at 9 pm, at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon. The idea is to bring together, on what would be his birthday, some of the biggest names in Portuguese music, artists from different generations and from different musical styles who crossed paths with the artist.
António Serrano, Agir, Camané, Carminho, Dino d’Santiago, Jorge Palma, Mariza, Marco Rodrigues, Pedro Abrunhosa, Ricardo Ribeiro and Sara Tavares will be the artists participating in the event.
Born in Lisbon, on December 21, 1939, Carlos do Carmo was the son of fado singer Lucília do Carmo and bookseller Alfredo Almeida, owners of the fado house O Faia, where he began to sing, until starting his artistic career in 1964. Latino Grammy for Career in 2014, among other awards, his path went through the main world stages, from Olympia, in Paris, to the Frankfurt Opera, in Germany, from Canecão, in Rio de Janeiro, to the Royal Albert Hall, in London.
