The Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, in Sintra, hosts a weekend that brings together the best of ballet in the world, with the best that the national gastronomy has to offer
Culture and gastronomy will go hand in hand over the weekend of 25-27 June. The Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, in Sintra, opens the doors of its halls for a unique and memorable experience. This is an exclusive experience that marks the return of international ballets to Seteais. This unique weekend includes a stay in one of the hotel’s 30 rooms, cultural visits and a wine dinner by the renowned chef Joachim Koerper, who has just celebrate 50 years of career.
But let’s go to the details of what will be this unique moment that the village of Sintra will receive. The experience starts on Friday with check in from 3 pm and a welcome drink on arrival at the Salão Nobre of the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, where Colares wine, exclusive to this region, will be served. Then, at 6 pm, a guided tour of the hotel with the historian Rodrigo Sobral Cunha, author of the book “Seteais em Sintra”, which will tell his guests the story of this charming 18th century palace, one of the symbols of the village of Sintra
The rest of the events take place the following day, Saturday, the 26th, with two visits to choose from, after breakfast on the hotel’s terrace, overlooking the pool and the sea in the background. Thus, you will be able to choose between a visit to the mythical Quinta da Regaleira or the oldest palace in the country, the National Palace of Sintra.
At 1:30 pm, already back at the hotel, it is time for the Traditional Brunch of Seteais, plus a grill, with several dishes available.
At the end of the afternoon, at 7 pm, the show that sets the tone for this weekend will take place, the International Ballet Gala, which will include the participation of artists belonging to some of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world, such as the American Ballet Theater, Zurich Ballet, National Ballet of Norway and National Ballet of Hungary.
Also on Sunday, June 27, it will be possible to watch the ballet show, which is also part of the official program of the 55th edition of the Sintra Festival. Both performances will take place at Jardins de Seteais.
On Saturday night, around 9 pm, the wine and gastronomic experience of Herdade da Malhadinha Nova arrives, with the presence of producers and a menu signed by chef Joachim Koerper. To start, Herdade da Malhadinha garden trilogy, followed by tomato mousse and gazpacho. In the main sea bass, razor clams and potato symphony and PDO pork tenderloin, with beets and mushrooms. To finish Textures of honey from Herdade da Malhadinha, orange and almonds and Petit Four. Each moment will be harmonized with the respective wines: Peceguina Rosé 2020; Antão Vaz da Malhadinha (Vinha da Peceguina) 2020; Verdelho 2019; Malhadinha Branco 2018; Touriga Nacional 2019 and Late Harvest 2015.
