Portugal is the Futsal World Champion

Portugal reaches the top of the tops of world futsal after being European champion of clubs and national teams.

This Sunday, October 3rd, the Futsal World Cup final match took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, and ended with a 2-1 victory for Portugal over Argentina.

Argentina came in determined to win the World Cup, and threatened Bebé’s goal early on with a shot that the goalkeeper of the quinas team majestically defended with the ball still hitting the goal post of Portugal.

The game was not easy to guess and the competition was heating up and with a strong game rhythm.

When the Argentina team was reduced to four players – Cristian Borruto was sent off for attacking Ricardinho – Portugal also threw a ball to the post showing that the game would be played to the end, with the determination that the Portuguese team has always shown through the world competition.

At fifteen minutes came the first goal of the game by Pany, a true “killer” with 7 goals in this world championship.
At half-time, Jorge Braz’s team already showed its superiority over the current World Champions, but winning by the minimum margin of 1-0.

After the break the South American team showed more pressure, but it was Erick, who got rid of an opponent, threw the ball over the goalkeeper, and the ball hit the goal bar.
In response, Argentina threw a ball to the post as well, but it was again Pany that midway through the second half of the game scored again and made it 2-0 for Portugal, which was not unanswered by Argentina, and reduced it to 2-1 with a goal from Claudino

The game was frenetic and Argentina fight to the end and even threw a ball to take the ink off the goal post of the Portugal team in the last second of the game, but after the referee ended the match and Portugal won, which was the first Futsal World Cup won by Portugal, bringing joy and pride to this team and to all the Portuguese and the World recognition of a great team.

On a final note, Ricardinho, one of the best ever in the sport, was elected the best player in the tournament and played his last game for the national team.

Congratulations to the whole team for the majestic victory of the Futsal World Cup, in this great historic achievement for Portugal
