    10 years of Círculo de Jazz Fest: Portuguese jazz is heard in Setúbal

    The 10th edition of Círculo de Jazz Fest returns to the city of Setúbal, with concerts promoting jazz in Portugal, together with various artists and projects that, over 10 years, were part of the festival. After the warm up with Luís Cunha Standards Trio, the program extends from the 22nd to the 25th of July.

    The poster includes Maria João, with the project “OGRE”, Samuel Gapp Trio & String Quartet, winner of the Bernardo Sassetti 2019 Composition Prize, and the João Mortágua Quartet. The recently formed Setúbal Jazz Orchestra, directed by Luís Cunha, also takes to the stage, with a debut concert.

    The 10th edition of Círculo de Jazz Fest kicks off on July 22, at 9 pm with a concert by the Setúbal Jazz Orchestra, at the Luísa Todi Municipal Forum. On the 23rd, the group Samuel Gapp Trio & String Quartet and Maria João – Ogre will take to the same stage, at 8pm. The following day, on July 24, A Uncertainty of Trio Certo and João Mortágua Quarteto perform in a concert at 8:30 pm, at Forte e Albarquel.

    The closing of the festival is in charge of the groups RAN and NOA, at 6 pm at the Sociedade Musical Capricho Setubalense, with free admission, subject to reservation.
