    Pichardo achieves best world record of the year in triple jump

    Portuguese athlete won the race at the Memorial István Gyulai, in Hungary

    This Tuesday, Pedro Pichardo achieved the best world mark of the year in the triple jump, with 17.92 meters, less than a month from the Tokyo Olympic Games.

    The Portuguese athlete thus won the race at the Memorial István Gyulai, in Hungary, and was close to the national record of 17.95 meters, which also belongs to him.

    Moreover, the Benfica sportsman had already set the previous best world mark of the year, of 17.69 meters, achieved in Madrid, in June.

    Remember that the Olympic Games start on the 23rd of July: Portugal will be represented by 92 athletes, distributed in 17 sports.
