The Portuguese Joana Vasconcelos won on Sunday the K1 500 meters final of the Canoeing World Cup in Barnaul, Russia, where on Friday she had qualified for the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games.
In Siberia, Joana Vasconcelos won the final with a mark of 01.56.183 minutes, almost four seconds less than the mark with which she had won the semi-final on Saturday.
The Portuguese beat the South African Esti Van Tonder (01.56.218 minutes) and the Croatian Anamaria Govorcinovic (01.56.536).
Joana Vasconcelos also won the bronze medal in the 200 meters mixed race, alongside Kevin Santos, with a time of 35.924 seconds.
The Portuguese duo was beaten by Swedes Petter Menning and Melina Andersson (35,530) and Bulgarians Olimpiya Dusheva and Denislav Tsvetanov (35,914).
