Casa do Vale do Douro, in Marco de Canavezes, designed by the architecture firm MJARC, won the European Next New Talented Generation of European Architects and Designers for 2020 award, in the category aimed at architects under 40 years old.
The award jury stresses the “willingness to interfere as little as possible in the visual topography of the landscape” and the solutions “of facade and roof with a direct relationship with the surroundings”.
The award, instituted by the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies, also highlights “the values of low energy consumption, spatial simplicity and flexibility of use”, of this house.

The house in question is part of a report that Expresso published in November about houses in nature.
